Our wait is over. The latest Game of Thrones trailer just dropped, and I have goosebumps! The most important take-away I have from watching it is: TORMUND GIANTSBANE IS ALIVE! Tormund is my GOT crush. I don’t even know why, but when the wall fell and he was presumably on it, I was shocked and devastated. But his adorable ginger face is in the new preview, and I’m relieved!
Without revealing too much, the two-minute preview gives us a little insight into what could be coming as the White Walkers get to Winterfell.
This week’s Entertainment Weekly also gives us what promises to be a spoiler-free look behind the scenes at the final season of Game of Thrones.
The first story features the crew worrying about a helicopter flying over the site of a huge scene. They hoped it wasn’t anyone trying to get an idea of what will happen in upcoming episodes. It turned out to be a police copter.
Director David Nutter said, “There are a lot of firsts in these episodes. There’s the funniest sequence I’ve ever shot on this show, the most emotional and compelling scene I’ve ever shot, and there’s one scene where there’s so many [major characters] together it feels like you’re watching a superhero movie.” It’s like Avengers, GOT style!
The article also tells the lead up to the epic battle of Winterfell. It included 11 weeks of night shoots with 750 people working to get it right. They definitely aren’t holding back on the last season, and I’m stoked! I can hear the theme song in the background…
The final season of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO April 14th.
