Steve-O admitted that “Jackass” had a bad influence on kids in the early 2000s, when it was new.

In an appearance on the “Hotboxing with Mike Tyson” podcast, he said, quote, “I think in the beginning we were genuinely worth vilifying, because back then they didn’t have YouTube or video on the internet . . .

“When ‘Jackass’ came out, little kids were showing up in hospitals all over the country because they saw us doing this crazy [stuff] and they wanted to do it themselves.  So little kids everywhere got video cameras and started [effing] themselves up.”

Because of kids doing their own stunts and posting videos online . . . as well as shows like “Ridiculousness” . . . Steve-O doesn’t think “Jackass” can be blamed anymore.
