Queen And David Bowie Wrote ‘Under Pressure’ During A Drunken Bender

Almost everyone knows the song “Under Pressure,” but what about its origins?

Turns out, the classic Queen and David Bowie collaboration was written during a drunken recording session in Switzerland. In a Youtube series chronicling Queen, drummer Roger Taylor is seen saying, ‘Well, I think the process was we were all drunk, and in the studio, and we were just for fun playing all sorts of old songs.”

At one point, the song’s famous riff written by bassist Joh Deacon was almost forgotten! Check out the whole story on Youtube series, ‘Queen the Greatest.’ Do you think “Under Pressure” would have been as epic without its riff?
