Paul McCartney has admitted he employed AI to produce “Now And Then,” the final new Beatles song. “When we came to make what will be the last Beatles record, it was a demo that John (Lennon) had that we worked on,” he explained. “We were able to take John’s voice and get it pure through this AI so that then we could mix the record as you would normally do. So there’s a good side to it and then a scary side and we’ll just have to see where that leads.”

Sir Paul said “Beatles: Get Back” documentary director Peter Jackson, who it should be noted is part of the Directors’ Guild Of America that is on the verge of approving Hollywood’s first AI negotiation with studios, showed the remaining Beatles how to use AI in music.

“They said this is the sound of John’s voice. A few seconds later and there it was: John’s voice. Crystal clear.”

Ringo Starr said that fans shouldn’t worry that artificial intelligence was used to finish the final Beatles song “Now And Then.” “This was beautiful,” insisted the drummer, while revealing that he and Sir Paul refused to fake John Lennon’s voice. “And it’s the final track you’ll ever hear with the four lads. And that’s a fact.” Fans became concerned about the use of AI following McCartney’s original comments about the tech being used.

“Can’t say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created,” wrote Sir Paul on Twitter. “It’s all real and we all play on it. We cleaned up some existing recordings — a process which has gone on for years.” So fear not, Beatles fans, one final song with Lennon’s vocals is on the way.
