Man Rigs A Flash Bang In His Truck To Deter Car Burglars

Was this way overboard, or just plain brilliant?  A guy in New Orleans was sick of people breaking into his truck.  So he rigged a FLASHBANG grenade to go off INSIDE the truck the next time it happened.  And it worked . . . kind of.

An NBC affiliate got their hands on security footage of a guy breaking into the truck in the middle of the night.  He smashed the driver’s side window.  So the flashbang didn’t prevent that part from happening.

But then he was climbing through the window when the flashbang went off in his FACE.  He wasn’t hurt, but was VERY startled and left empty handed.  It’s not clear how the guy rigged it up, but cops say what he did was technically illegal, so don’t do it yourself.
