How Did AC/DC Get Their Band Name?

Every rock fan knows the name AC/DC, but do they know the origin of the band’s name?

Turns out, the band got its name thanks to the sewing machine of Angus and Malcolm Young’s sister. According to American Songwriter, “The term ‘alternating current’ refers to an electric charge that changes direction while ‘direct current’ is an electric charge that flows in one direction.

While none of the band members were electricians themselves, they found that the name was a good representation of their electrifying performance energy.”

Of course, the band has stuck with the power theme with album titles “High Voltage” and “Power Up.” What band do you think has the most unique name?
