Ok…by the close of business today Americans will have spent close to 2 Billion dollars on flowers.

Everything from really thoughtful bouquets made by your local florist to something picked up last minute at the gas station.

California is the leading producer of domestic roses (Rosebowl is there for a reason)

But Cali can’t keep up so alot of the flowers you’ll be giving to your loved one today will be flown in from Latin America.

Basic fact of it is if you’re going to buy $19 roses on the way home…Labor is cheaper in Columbia and Ecuador.

That means the flowers you are paying $19 bucks for has more frequent flier miles than you.

Talk to a local florist.  Look for local in season plants or flowers…Oh and don’t forget the card.
