A San Diego woman needed to find a new home after the van she was living inside became overrun with rats.
The unnamed woman started off with just two as pets, but because rats will give birth every four weeks with a dozen in each litter, that number quickly reached 320.
According to the San Diego Humane Society, the rats had pretty much eaten through the vehicle, tearing up the upholstery, seats, and engine wiring.
About 140 of the rats are now up for adoption, with the rescue agency giving them out in same-sex pairs so as not to create a repeat situation.
This reminds me of an episode of Hoarders where a guys house was overrun with rats. This guys would  look at this San Diego woman and say “320 rats in a van? Hold my beer…” His wife passed away and then he basically let his pet rats take over his house. He eventually had to live in his garage. It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen on TV. He had over 2500 rats living all over every inch of his house. It was terrifying.
