The land of the ice and snow continues to freeze over as Robert Plant has broken out “Immigrant Song” for the first time in 23 years.

Performing at Reykjavik’s Secret Solstice festival, the Led Zeppelin singer hadn’t sung the third album’s opening track since he last went out on the road with guitarist Jimmy Page in 1996.

Speaking to the Icelandic audience last week, Plant, now fronting the Sensational Space Shifters, described how touring the country in 1970 sparked the song’s lyrics before launching into a shortened version.

Finishing the tune, Plant joked, “Thank you culture, way back, for the inspiration.”
