  • This historic site is an underground alleyway that has the highest number of mentions of “spooky” (534) and “scary” (604) and the sixth most mentions of “haunted” on TripAdvisor, where it has a 4.5 rating.
  • It has a reputation for being haunted, with many reported ghost sightings, and several paranormal investigations have happened here.
  • Second on the list is a lot closer to home, the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.
