I’m sure you all know how I feel about the stupid Pats winning the Super Bowl again… so I’m not even going to talk about it because it’ll fill me with rage. Instead, I want to talk about the most entertaining part of the Super Bowl: the commercials. I love Maroon 5, and I also love Adam Levine without his shirt on, but the half-time show was sort-of meh for me.

As far as I’m concerned, Bud Light killed the commercial game this year. Their #ForTheThrone commercial combined beer and Game of Thrones, something I do anyway. I loved the GOT nod, and the commercials were super entertaining. Will they get me to drink Bud Light? Not a chance. But I do really appreciate their humor.

The Olay Killer Skin commercial may not have been the best commercial this year, but it truly cracked me up. I love Sarah Michelle Gellar, and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be an Olay commercial. I love that. It was witty, cute, and definitely geared towards the ladies.

The ones that made me cry… and yes, commercials make me cry sometimes. The Microsoft commercial with the adaptive game controller was so sweet. Video games aren’t something I let my kids play a lot, but I love that brings joy to kids who don’t have the ability to do a lot of physical activities, and they can still interact with others through video games.

The Verizon first responder commercials really got me “in the feels” as the kids say, especially this one. Coach Anthony Lynn was struck by a drunk driver while he was crossing the road. I have personally felt the effects of drinking and driving, so this one really hit me hard. I personally want to say thank you to all the first responders out there, including my brother, who is an EMT and fireman. Nothing will bring my Heidi back, but knowing that someone was there and tried to do what they could for her gives me comfort.
