A Florida man has come up with what he believes is a brilliant plan to combat Hurricane Dorian: drop a ginormous amount of ice into the ocean.
The unidentified Palm Bay resident presented his idea during an interview segment on the TV show “Florida Today.” Discussing the approaching hurricane, the man expressed his disbelief that U.S. officials have yet to figure out a way to stop ocean-born storms. “All this warm weather and warm water,” he said. “We have a Navy. Why don’t the Navy come and drop ice in the warm water so it can’t get going as fast as it’s going? There’s gotta be ways to combat this instead of just point at the thing and saying, ‘Well, now it’s getting worse!’ Yeah, we know it’s getting worse!”
But on the off-chance that Plan A doesn’t work, the Floridian has Plan B all worked out. “Well, we have an Air Force,” he says. “Drive some Air Force planes around and get the winds going the opposite way. Get the Navy to go in circles to fight it the other way.”
