If you happened to be traveling through Newark Liberty Airport on Monday night and left something behind at the security screening, the TSA has some bad news for you.

According to officials, a Terminal C traveler noticed a 15-inch long black snake with a yellow ring around its neck at the checkpoint.

Port Authority police removed the reptile, which New Jersey Federal Security Director Tom Carter says will not be reunited with its owner.

TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein joked with the New York Post, “The snake did not make it on the plane, much to the relief of whoever would have been sitting next to it.”

Snakes ARE NOT emotional support animals. They would have the exact opposite affect on me. Let’s keep snakes on a plane from happening in real life please. I already can’t stand flying… this is seriously my nightmare!
