Slash’s Latest Song Was Written from the Perspective of a Dog
Slash’s new song “Fill My World” with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators was written from the perspective of a dog.
Myles was inspired to write the lyrics after witnessing his Shih Tzu named Mozart panic during a storm. He was checking in on the dog through a video camera system, after his flight was delayed.
“It was heartbreaking to watch. It terrified the little guy. [It’s] inspired by what I imagined he might have been thinking as it all went down and his plea to us to come home . . . it could apply to a relationship between humans. And to be really honest, as I was singing the song in the studio, at one point you can hear my voice crack a little bit. It was getting to me . . . it’s definitely sung from the heart. And I’m man enough to admit it!”
The song will be featured on Slash and Myles’ new album, “4”, that comes out February 11th.
