If you’ve ever wondered how a guy like Ozzy Osbourne could have survived the last fifty years of rock debauchery, look to the man’s DNA. A biologist says that Ozzy’s mutated genes have given him his dark superpowers over drugs, booze and…ants.
Biologist and author Bill Sullivan calls Ozzy “a genetic mutant” in his new book about the science behind who we are. Sullivan looked over a genome company’s report behind Ozzy’s DNA and says those mutations have helped Ozzy survive drugs and alcohol.
Sullivan does say, however, that these type of mutations may also play a role in a person’s drug and alcohol addiction. Sullivan believes that genes play a huge role in addiction and that addiction “has more to do with our genes than our moral fiber.”
