Officials have identified a suspect in a week-long string of attacks that have injured four residents of a once-peaceful Florida community.
The suspect: someone’s pet squirrel. No joke.
The squirrel’s identity came to light Wednesday after a video, which chronicled the rodent’s most recent attack, was posted online. The clip shows a Sarasota man walking to his work truck, unaware that the squirrel is aggressively racing toward him from behind. It jumps on him, clawing his upper body and sinking its teeth into his arm.
It turns out the critter, named 8-Up, belongs to a neighbor who found the ailing squirrel as a baby and nursed it back to health. There’s no word on whether police intend to file any charges against 8-Up or its owner.
Ate-Up is more like it.
