New in Theaters: The Horror Movie “Smile” and the Billy Eichner LGBTQ Romantic Comedy “Bros”
1. “Smile” (R)
A horror movie starring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter Sosie Bacon. She plays a therapist who witnesses her patient commit suicide with an evil smile on her face.
After the traumatic incident, she starts to lose her mind and see people with demonic smiles on their faces. It also stars Jessie T. Usher from “The Boys” and Kyle Gallner from the “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake.
An LGBTQ romantic comedy co-written by and starring Billy Eichner. He plays a museum curator hired to write a romantic comedy about a gay couple. In the process he meets and falls for a lawyer played by Luke Macfarlane from “Killjoys”.
It features an entirely LGBTQ+ main cast and also stars “SNL’s” Bowen Yang, Jim Rash from “Community”, and Monica Raymond from “Chicago Fire”.
3. “Dead for a Dollar” (R) Trailer (
A Western starring Christoph Waltz as a bounty hunter who’s been hired to track down Rachel Brosnahan from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”. Her husband claims she’s being held hostage by a handsome black man, but we all know she’s there willingly. Willem Dafoe and Benjamin Bratt are also in it.
4. “The Good House” (R) Trailer (
After a messy divorce, Sigourney Weaver rekindles a romance with an old high school flame, who’s played by Kevin Kline.
