The legendary and longtime guitarist of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, has left the band or been left by the band…according to reports.

A sourceĀ is saying that Buckingham’s exit wasn’t voluntary. “He was fired,” the insider said.

The band in the middle of a tour released the following statement about Buckingham’s absence:

“Lindsey Buckingham will not be performing with the band on this tour. The band wishes Lindsey all the best.”

Contrary to what you might think…Buckingham was not a founding member of Fleetwood Mac though he was a member during the most popular era.

Buckingham joined in 1975 after the guitarist, Bob Welch left the band.

Fleetwood Mac will continue to tour andĀ the lineup includes Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, John McVie, Christine McVie and new members Mike Campbell and Neil Finn.
