Just the (Literal) Tip Tuesday

My mama always said “If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to go out to eat” and she taught us this trick early on in life. I’ve been surprised by how many people don’t know about it! So, to calculate a tip, all you do is move the decimal left one place (that will give you 10%) and double for 20% (the standard tipping amount for good service).
Now, if you haven’t been a server, here’s another thing to take into account when tipping: if you sit and talk, for longer than your meal takes, you should tip extra. Here’s why: table turnover is important for a server, and you’re preventing them from making more money. If you sit for 3 hours, that’s fine, but triple your tip:)
Cheers,
Amy
