Happy Birthday MTV!

MTV is just a few months older than me, so it was a huge part of my childhood. I vividly remember watching music videos from David Lee Roth, Madonna, GNR, Alanis Morrisette, etc. I watched it religiously growing up. I’m sad that my kids don’t get the same station I did. Not only did I love watching music videos, and specialty programming like Yo MTV Raps, Unplugged, and Headbangers Ball, I was introduced to the Real World, Beavis and Butthead, Daria, Liquid TV and The State. If you’re as old as I am, you may remember some of those.

Here are some of my favorite music videos, the ones that I think of often and remember vividly, along with a clip from one of the greatest sketch shows The State. There are so many more that I love and remember, but this is just a sample.
