Former McDonald’s corporate chef Mike Haracz is spilling the beans on how to recreate the brand’s world-renowned French fries yourself.
On his TikTok, Haracz shares that Great Value Thin Cut French Fried Potatoes from Walmart are nearly identical to McDonald’s fries. He says that to recreate the iconic fries at home, you’ll want to deep fry them at 360-370 degrees Fahrenheit for about two minutes in small batches, adding about a tablespoon of beef tallow per cup of your frying oil.
The fries should be salted with regular Morton salt immediately after frying (he says that’s what McD’s uses). Despite his viral TikTok video garnering nearly a million views, some TikTokers are skeptical about replicating McDonald’s fries at home and others say it’s gonna be easier to just hit up a Mickie D’s drive-thru.
