Fantasy Rock Supergroup
What would it sound like if members from Foo Fighters, Metallica and Iron Maiden all got together for a jam? Well, only the people in attendance at the session know, but fans would like to hear a taste too.
Foo’s drummer Taylor Hawkins along with Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith rocked out at a party last week.
Eighties metal rocker Howie Simon from Alcatrazz shared the photo on his Instagram, which kicked off fans begging for a listen.
One user commented on the post, “OMG we NEED to hear this!!! Keep it up!!”, while another wrote, “I would pay good money AND travel to see this live”.
So, it got me thinking: if I was going to make a rock supergroup, who would be in it? This is a REALLY hard question, because there are so many amazing and talented rock gods out there.
Off the top of my head:
Lead Singer: Robert Plant (or Layne Staley if he was still alive)
Back up singer/guitarists: Dave Grohl & Jerry Cantrell
Drummer: Neil Peart
Bassist: Flea
Guitarist: Brian May
Songwriter/Producer: Butch Vig
But ask me again in 6 months, my answer will probably change…
