Everything Old Becomes New Again

I don’t know if you know this, but the 80s and 90s are back in a big way. Shows I watched as a little girl are coming back, and the clothes I rocked in high school are cool again, except when I wear them now. I just look like an old lady trying to be cool, which I think is totally unfair. I wore them the first time they were cool, I should get to wear them now!

Any way… I saw today that my favorite cartoon from the 80s is back: She-Ra Princess of Power. But now it’s Princesses of Power. The trailer looks cool, and I’m excited to share it with my daughter, but WHY? Have we run out of ideas? I mean, She-Ra is bad ass, but do we really have to reinvent the wheel? We have Netflix and Hulu… just replay the old ones! But, I’ll be honest: I’m totally going to watch this. It’s nostalgic and I’m curious to see what they do with my childhood favorite.

On top of She-Ra, Murphy Brown is getting a reboot as well. I loved Murphy Brown, but again, is it too late? Why not bring back Cheers, Coach, Wings, etc. What I REALLY want is a new season of Friends! I mean, we got new Will & Grace and Roseanne last year. I think it’s time.

I don’t know if this means I’m super old, or not old enough, but everything I loved from age 3-18 is coming back. I have said the 80s and 90s were the best in terms of music and pop culture, so maybe this validates my thoughts. I’m going to accept these reboots and just pretend I’m still 15… but with booze.
