Def Leppard’s Joe Elliot says the band is planning a special 40th anniversary release of Hysteria – even though that anniversary is still years away.
Asked about the band’s landmark album on The Jeremy White Podcast, Elliott says he and his bandmates “put our foot down” that “we’re not doing any more 35th or 27th anniversary releases”. He said “we don’t want anything out till the 40th” – which won’t arrive until 2027.
Hysteria is the band’s highest-selling album with more than 30 million copies sold worldwide – and one of the most influential hard rock albums ever made.
