I know most of you go through this pretty regularly. No matter what you do, there’s always a few days to a week where everything makes you cry. You spill milk, you cry. You run out of windshield wiper fluid, you cry. Krispy Kreme’s hot light isn’t on, waterworks. A hole in your panty hose sparks a flood of tears. There are a million things that can trigger you. You’re overly emotional, and there’s literally nothing you can do but wait it out.
But instead, we decide to lean into it and watch the most depressing stuff ever. What better time to binge watch This Is Us than during that emotional streak? That video of the baby who got a hearing aid and heard his mom speak for the first time? Obviously! They say misery loves company, but why do we do it ladies? We never seem to want to watch that stuff when we’re emotionally stable and care-free. Nope, we wait until we’re a ticking time bomb of tears to explore the saddest depths of the internet.
Guys, the best thing you can do during this time is 1- throw a box of tissues her way and run; 2- be as supportive and understanding as you can; 3- cry with her. I don’t think you have any other options until the wave of sadness has passed and we’re back to our normal selves. We love you for dealing with our crap.
Just in case you need a reason to cry, here’s some videos that may help. I’m not crying, you’re crying… hold on, I have something in my eye…
