Columbia Urban League Young Professionals To Host Inaugural Golf Classic

[Blythewood, SC] Fore! The Columbia Urban League Young Professionals (CULYPSC) is hosting its inaugural Golf Classic on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at The Windermere Club in Blythewood, South Carolina.

As a volunteer organization, the goal of the Golf Classic is to increase its support base and financial resource pool so that CULYPSC can continue to produce service activities and provide resources to communities and young professionals. All levels of golfers and sponsors are encouraged to participate and further player details can be found via our website at www.culypsc.org/golf.

This friendly tournament is a great way to bring community members together for a cause. Established in 2000, the Columbia Urban League Young Professionals, Inc. was created to support the mission of the Columbia Urban League, Inc. and has been a leader in promoting social justice, equity, equality, and inclusion. In 2021, the Columbia Urban League Young Professionals reached over 200,000 individuals with digital programming. In addition to reaching those individuals, support to the community was provided through PPE distribution, voter education and registration, money management training, food distribution, and much more! As an auxiliary volunteer organization of the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights and direct services organization, members consist of individuals who are pillars of
the community.

By participating in the CULYPSC Golf Classic as a player or sponsor, businesses and individuals can serve as active contributors in the efforts to empower lives across South Carolina. President of CULYPSC, Elána R. Frazier, spoke on the upcoming inaugural Golf Classic, saying:

“With the help of our sponsors, this is another way for us to simply show up for the community as young professionals. We must be pioneering and practical when it comes to providing ongoing support. Our Golf Classic is the perfect opportunity for community members and golf enthusiasts to come together in support of our efforts, with the opportunity to network, socialize, and build bridges.”

CULYPSC Personal and Professional Development Chair, Thomas Gilbert, expressed sentiments of anticipation regarding the Classic, saying “The YPs are so excited to have friends across the Carolinas and other areas of the country come together for our fundraiser, which will allow us to continue benefiting the commuities that we serve
and providing value to members of our chapter.”’
