While complaining about the long wait has become part of the Department of Motor Vehicles experience, a fed up Kansas City woman tried to speed things up by pulling out a gun and opening fire.

The incident happened just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday after an unidentified woman approached a DMV worker and complained about the wait.

The two argued for about 10 minutes before the woman said she’d “take care of it” and stormed out of the facility, witness Patricia Zick says.

When the woman got outside, she pulled a gun out of her purse and fired a shot into the air.

“That’s when we all ran,” Zick says. “We didn’t know if she was coming back in or she had more ammunition … or what was going on.”

Although the woman fired several more shots, no one was hit, police say.

Police arrived just as the woman was climbing into her car, witness Kathy Coulter says. Officers grabbed the woman, “took her down and handcuffed her right away,” Coulter says.

Her charges are pending, according to police.

Have you ever witnessed someone losing it at the DMV?

Gotta say glad Mark Sanford fixed our DMV.
