2019 Columbia Brewer’s Ball

Last year I had the honor of attending the Columbia Brewers Ball to help benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I went to support Nick Gettings, someone who is a true friend to the craft beer scene in Columbia, and someone who has been battling CF all his life.

I met Nick a few years ago at a local craft brewery, and last year I teamed up with him, his best friend Jonathan Gamboa and my buds at Angry Fish Brewing to make my White Girl Wasted beer, which also helped support the CF Foundation. By the way, Nick and Jonathan are appropriately named the Brewsky Brothers, since they love beer and Nick is married to Jonathan’s sister. I took two of my best friends and we had a great time. I will say that hearing the stories from moms and dads of children who passed away from CF was heartbreaking, but hearing stories from people living with CF was inspiring. Nick is one of those people, and that’s why I support him. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and I’m proud to call him a friend.

This year’s Brewers Ball is this Thursday October 17th from 7-9:30pm at 701 Whaley St. I hope to see you there! I hope this year is bigger and better than last year!

The Brewer’s Ball celebrates this year’s class of Columbia’s Finest Honorees –outstanding professionals who are nominated for their exemplary leadership, active involvement in the community, and business excellence – and invited to participate in a three-month fundraising and awareness building campaign to help support innovative research towards a cure for cystic fibrosis.
