10 of the Worst Classic Rock Cover Songs Known to Humanity
“Classic Rock” magazine put out a list of 10 of the worst classic rock cover songs known to humanity, and their picks are hard to argue with. Here they are, in no particular order:
1. “Imagine”, Gal Gadot and her famous pals . . . originally by John Lennon
2. “Behind Blue Eyes”, Limp Bizkit . . . Originally by The Who
3. “You Shook Me All Night Long“, Celine Dion and Anastacia . . . Originally by AC/DC
4. “Anarchy in the UK”, Motley Crue . . . Originally by the Sex Pistols
5. “Wild Horses”, Susan Boyle . . . Originally by the Rolling Stones
6. “A Whiter Shade of Pale”, Black Label Society . . . Originally by Procol Harum
7. “My Generation”, Hilary Duff . . . Originally by The Who
8. “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, Take That . . . Originally by Nirvana
9. “American Pie”, Madonna . . . Originally by Don McLean
10. “Oops! . . . I Did It Again”, Children of Bodom . . . Originally by Britney Spears
(They obviously threw this one in because of how horrible it is, even though it’s NOT a classic rock song.)
As for alternate choices, I would throw in anything off Pat Boone’s 1997 album “In a Metal Mood” . . . particularly “Crazy Train“.
(Profanity Warning: You can listen to all the tracks here . . . except for “You Shook Me All Night Long” . . . which is why we posted the hyperlink in the story above. Motley Crue’s “Anarchy” contains multiple F-bombs.)
